Marduk, yes to interconnects! The Transparency line is better than the more $$ Dimensions from same fabricator, and less $$ than the competition.
If I knew then what I paid to know now...But it sure has been fun.
I have the same CDPlayer so I had to chime in. Give the interconnect some break-in time. They are very nice. Can't lose on Kimber, except they are spendy.

Summary and rating on my system:
100%=Kimber Kable Select KS1111 balanced interconnects---the best I have.
96%=Audio Horizons Transparency RCA interconnects---------very similar to above.
88%=Audio Horizons Dimension IC ------------------------------------more mid bass, less detailed and more veiled.
85%=Kimber Kable Silver Streaks RCA IC---------------------------more detailed, too harsh.
75%=Straightwire Rhapsody S RCA IC--------------------------------better than the stock IC's, but not good enough.
