Canare Star Quad 4s-11 seems rather warm

I made a set of these and tried them out. After a few days of use, I had a few friends over to compare. We all said the same thing;

These are rather warm cables. They seem to remove much of the "air" in the sound but still portray a nice soundstage. I really enjoyed the midrange with these. The bass seems a bit slower and possibly rolled off in the lowest octaves. I don't like the way cymbals sounded with the Canare wire. It wasn't bad but sounded as if somebody hung a blanket up around the drum set. I had only given them about 65 hours of burn-in so I will try them again but not for a while. I have a feeling that they may mate well with the Maggies. I have yet to try that.

I am going to lend these to a friend who has a rather bright sounding system and see what he thinks.

We compared them to the Belden 5000 twisted pair and some Monster M1000 speaker wire. I will refrain from commenting on the others other than to say that I am continuing with the Belden 5000 wire.

Without a direct comparison, I can't explicitly comment on my Cardas cables but those are still my favorite so far. After years of abuse, they exhibited a short on one leg and I have yet to "operate" on them.
