...what I meant by, "...connect the negative leg to the low post & the positive leg to the high post, then bridge to and fro...", is that the single run of speaker cable is connected to both the high and low posts, but to only one leg of each set (then jumpers are used to bridge the posts, same as usual).
The cable's negative leg is connected to the low post's negative (return) post so as to simply provide a more direct connection to the woofer's return (for a better grip on the woofer's excursion -- so is the notion) than only via jumpers, and the cable's positive leg is connected to the high post's positive post so as to simply provide a better connection to the tweeter than if only connected via jumpers.
The idea is that of a *compromise* between the two crossover sections rather than only one section "having the privilege of" being directly connected via the speaker cable, while the other section is connected via jumpers (a bum deal for that section -- so is the notion).
