Bi-wiring question

Dear all,
Need your advice here, I have pair of speakers (Totem Forest) which has bi-wire configuration, as I don't have much budget to buy 2 pairs, I want to use single wire plus decent jumper cables.

Usually people connect the single wire cable to the low freq binding post and connect this binding post with jumper cable to higher freq binding post.

Will it be ok (esp.in long term) if I connect my cable in reverse to the above (i.e. connect to high freq binding post instead of low freq's) ?

Because I read somewhere that if we have 2 cables, better to connect the better cable to the high freq binding post.

Thanks a lot in advance for any advice :)
