Hello Banter,
There are four sponge pads underneath the four Aluminum feet of your 390s, which are supposed to avoid scratching of the rack, remove them so that the Aluminum feet are in direct contact with the shelf. You will hear sunshine(30% improvement). Note that the pads are firmly attached and you may need some adhesive solvent to remove them completely. When you detach the feet to remove the pads, make sure you do not turn the unit upside down without the transport lock screw.
Second method to boost life from 390s, is to drive your poweramp directly by 390s variable mode, may sound a bit clinical.
I get wonderful sound from my 390s by using Aural Symphonics Magic Gem v2t and van den Hul MC silver. Very lively.
