How? stereo from Multi AV or (HDMI, or Digital) outputs

I can install Linux on a PlayStation 3--nice budget solution: PlayStation, BluRay disc player, and Linux workstation <$600. But the hang-up is cabling to 2-channel integrated amp. When it works, sonystyle web page notes out puts in caption: Multi-AV, HDMI, or Digital.

Has anyone dealt with this new generation of cabling--with happily DRM?
