Can bi-wire act as single wire?

I recently changed my speaker location after upgrading my amp. Now my right speaker needs a run of 16 feet and my left only 6 feet. The dealer I am corresponding with states since the cable I am considering only comes in 5M (about 16.5 feet) in bi-wire configuration, and my speakers (B & W 801F's) have only a single pair of terminals each, I can take both hot ends of the cable and attach to the positive terminal of one speaker and ditto for both ground ends of the cable. Essentially, I guess I'm turning a higher priced bi-wire into a single wire but this is the only way (with this particular cable, PS Audio reference) to obtain the length I need. Do you guys who know think this is workable, doable, and will sound more or less like the single cable (if it came in that length)? Thanks, farmdoc
