This type of cable needs plenty of time to burn-in, so don't make a final judgement until many hours have passed. The silver plating and Teflon dielectric will take around 400 hours to fully open-up. Until then, they will likely sound a bit muddled and lack proper focus, among other things.Please see the archives (or email me) for the proper way to wire the cable, since it's vital to connect the four conductors in a cross-connected geometry (star quad) when used as a single run cable. The cable is designed for use as a side-by-side wired internal bi-wire cable, so the color coding is back-asswards when it's wired as a single run star quad cable.
BTW, I followed my own advice and ordered a set of AudioQuest BFA's for my second system's Nordost CinemaFlex 14/4's, too :-)
