If you do opt to build CAT 5's sometime down the road, i would count on using a zobel network. ESPECIALLY if your going to do a long run like that.

In terms of tonal balance, i found them to be very even sounding with extremely extended bass. Then again, it would all boil down to your specific construction technique and how well your amp and speaker combo respond to them. There's only one way to find out.... : )

The CV 4's are somewhat on the dull or drab sounding side to me. If you were having a problem with the system being bright or shrill, i can see them working out okay for you. Overall, i thought that they lacked transparency and had a somewhat "closed in" sound to them. The music never really seemed to "open up". Then again, each system and what the person wants or expects out of it is different. Bottom line is that you enjoy it when your listening to it. Sean
