Thanks Charles,One more question. Were you able to compare the sonic differences of an St70:
1. with basically just the power supply upgrade module
vs.
2. the fully upgraded one (after installing the premium driver board)?
TIA

If I'm understanding your question you want to just install the power supply on the ST-70? I don't beleive that can be done being the entire amp has been re-engineered and re-wired with the ccda board. the sonic differences are again, for the power supply board, an extreme improvement in dynamics. There is no lose of "steam" in any frequency. Even with low volume you can feel "punch".I've also felt on of the greatest improvements to the ST-70 was the preamp. I driving it with a PAS with full curcio mod and most importantly the power module. This power module improvement produces the same effect in both units. Well worth it.

Must correct Charles on this. The Curcio power supply board can be installed in an ST70 just fine w/o any of the other Curcio boards or mods. I put one in mine. My initial impressions were, like Charles said, that the amp seemed a little punchier. It had a little more thump to it. I don't claim to have a golden ear or an accurate enough memory to remember exactly how it sounded before the installation though. For me I just feel better about getting rid of the old stock quad cap.
I think Greg may be referring to our quad cap module (but I'll stand corrected if in error) as opposed to out premium regulated supply. The former (ASM-S7U and ASM-S7U-B) replaces the oiginal quad cap & bias supply essentially a new power supply but only a robust enhancement of the original. By comparision, our premium regulator module (ASM-S7P) supports the original power supply with a module containing 3 wide bandwidth - low impedance regulators that power the output stage (plate, screen grid, and bias). I think Charles's comments refer to this module.BTW, either may be used independently or together. However, that being said, nearly all of the premium regulator modules (ASM-7P) are purchased as a package with the premiumm driver module (ASM-3A, our CCDA module). On the other hand, many have chosen the premium driver module first and then later have added the premium regulator module.
Sorry. I was indeed, referring to the quad cap board. I'll pay better attention next time! : )
