Thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts on this topic.I mostly like reading user reviews where Joe Blow takes us through his process of picking the component - describing his discoveries about the hobby, explaining how the process shaped his ideas about audio, and passing along some of the lessons that he learns along the way. I often find myself taking away a few new insights to apply to my own method of picking a component in reading these stories. I don't necessarily get these lessons in a press review that starts and ends with one component. Of course, press reviews are useful for gaining other insights.
With user reviews, it's not necessarily the component I learn about; it's a chance to see how others approach the hobby and see why they picked component X when I went with component Y.
