I agree and it depends how good your fences are, I would suggest.

Ours are allowed out in the back yard and are restricted to it by the plastic spikes we've installed along all fences and around all vertical items like power poles and trees.

We've not had any feral cats or dogs get into the yard, at night, since we put this in.

A whole lot cheaper than an enclosure.
