Reading up on dust mites and mattresses.. So... How old is YOUR mattress?

I can happily say my own mattress is over 25 years old. I bought it new back in May of 1990. (I moved to a new apartment and bought new stuff for it. So I distinctly remember when I bought it.)
My beloved mattress is a two sided affair. So with recently wearing through a good portion of the surface of one side, I just went back to the other side.
So I would hazard to guess I can get another ten years out of my lump of dust mite encrusted mattress.

And yes it IS true, I only change the sheets twice a year, if needed...*
LOL

I have looked for a new mattress now and then, however I despise the white fuzzy sort of crap ALL new mattress tops are covered in. Like it is made/designed on purpose to go bad in five years..
The day they go back to a smooth satin material I will rejoice, and maybe actually buy a new mattress.
If the white fuzzy crap for a surface is forever, I guess I may never buy a new mattress.. ever again.
I would rather sleep in my dust mite infested worn out slab.
How about you.
(*PS the sheet comment was a JOKE. A JOKE...)
