Phil Simms

...has come out and tooted his own horn and said he will not say "Redskins" when he and Jim Nantz, CBS's "A" level broadcast team [which means they get the biggest game] do the Redskins v Giants game in late September. No refusal to do the game, no request to do a different game. Yawn.

Yes I am a Redskins fan but could care less if the name is changed or not. I'd rather the public figure out what it wants and do it. We are overly politically correct these days regardless of how you feel on this issue.

Another piece of BS was Bob Costas and his half time rant last year during the NBC broadcast of the Cowboys / Redskins game regarding the name. And you can see Costas doing Braves games with their demeaning tomahawk chop saying nothing on that.

So this lip service from these guys who gladly accept the huge money for doing their job is just that. No substance. A classier thing would have been if Simms said nothing beforehand and after the fact we figured out he didn't say the name. I imagine most here will say its better than nothing or similar. It's classic patting oneself on the back with no sacrifice. Change requires sacrifice, sorry that's the way it is. He's not going to jeopardize his gravy train nor would I ask him to do so.

Still its quite see-thru as far as I'm concerned.
