Your Concert Schedule

My wife and I lived in the Toronto area for about 15 years and greatly enjoyed being able to attend live concerts as well as the Opera. What we did learn was that not only was the artist important (of course!) but we had to be selective about the venue as well.
For anyone who's been to TO, for example, the Molson Amphitheatre or the "Beer Can on the Lake" would not be a favored destination. Neither is the Air Canada Centre, the hockey arena - but I will go there to see something that I really want to. One exception was Prince when he played there a couple of years ago.
But now, living a few hours north of the city we have to be more selective about concerts we attend because it's an overnight trip with a downtown hotel as well. We did see Beck at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts a few weeks ago, that was a great show.
Next up is Arcade Fire at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, we'll be out there on holidays in mid-August and were more than happy to include that concert in our plans. They did play Toronto and Ottawa at the start of the Reflektor tour, but in the big city tickets sell out right away.
After that, towards the end of August its Steely Dan - once again at the Sony Centre in downtown Toronto. We've seen them a couple of times before and always greatly enjoyed it.
And I think that just might be the concert budget for the year. There might be something decent locally that we can attend, either that or somewhere close where we don't have to overnight. I would much rather go to something I really want to see and pay (within reason) for decent tickets rather than break it up over a lot more shows.
So, what's up with you guys? Any great shows recently?
