You said one ST-70 sounded "sweet" and the other sounded "dry." Had you tried swapping tubes in the amps? If you did, did the sound travel with the tubes or stay with the amps? Are the components on the driver boards identical or different? Thanks!I've experienced similar variations in old tube gear. I'm trying to pinpoint what could account for these differences. (I've never heard a Mk. III that sounded good.)
