I agree, the Sony preamp (TA 2000F) was a surprise,I had dismissed it as a Sony (also ran).I bought it for it's adjustable phono stage. It has a very delicate, detailed sound.You couldn't pry it away from me now.
I squirted some Deoxit on top of the scratchy volume pot. It worked....for a while, now it's returned.From looking at the pot, I can't see any opening, so I'll have to remove the faceplate to get a look at the bottom of the pot. Do you know if this is a sealed pot?
