Although I found them harsh and fatiguing -- probably the polar opposite of veiled.
Still, the ones I remember hearing weren't something I'd want to have to listen to regularly.
In your case -- maybe worth trying a different amplifier and/or source electronics(?).
That IS why some of us keep a few -- spares -- on hand, you know? ;-)
