Garrard 401 ~ 45 rpm speed ?

My 401 makes a rattling noise while spinning vinyl at 45 rpm.
No noise at 33 rpm. The high rattling noise is not obtrusive when record is playing ( well I don't notice it) Does it require oil or something?
