RE: Scott 340 receiver question(s)

You probably need to remove a few more side panel screws. There might also be a screw loop on the tube deck that you've overlooked.

Some of the Scott mpx boards have a jack on the mpx board for testing. You might also try patching a cable from that mpx out jack on the multiplex board to the aux in to see if you get anything. That bypasses the mpx circuit....it will tell you if your problem is with the tuner section or the mpx plate...or somewhere after that.

I would also suggest wiggling and reseating the 2 tubes next to the tuning capacitor (6u8 and the 6BQ7). I've had issues with those in a few other Scott tuners in the past.
