marantz 4025

My amps shut down again so off to the thrift store to find a receiver so I could keep grading albums for internet sale. Went to ten stores and nothing. Then I found this. Its got a built in cassette player so I imagine that's why it was overlooked. Also the Marantz name is mostly worn off. a 70's Marantz designed to make tapes from albums can't be terrible. Wow it's good. I know that the price goes down when you buy parts in bulk so i imagine this has some good parts in it from pricier units. Mine was built in Taiwan. It's a rare unit as it didn't sell well and was discontinued. Keep an eye open for one for great sound for your kids, friends, and relatives that want to get back into vinyl but don't want to spend much. Put that money into a jico sas for an old shure. I can't get over mine on the lowly m44.
