RE: Yamaha CA-1010 integrated I'm in love :-)

I love that piece and the similar (or same minus meters, not sure which) CA-1000. The preamp section is only average, and the amp sounds not-so-good in "normal" (class AB), but it sounds DAMN good in class A. Rock solid, authoritative, hot-running, 20 watts per channel.

The preamp and power amp sections are separable on the back with a switch. Use a great preamp and only the power amp section and only in class A and you've got a really good amp for the price. If you use an electronic crossover and subwoofer, 20 watts is enough for about any speaker.

Enjoy!
