I am a bit of a Yamaha fanboy,so I am not totally objective, though.
I think this line of Yamaha integrateds (and the previous, CA-*00 line) were/are very accurate and also very musical, even by modern standards -- far superior to most of the 'big name' Japanese massmarket hardware of their era.
Aesthetics are funny things, aren't they? The Yamaha hardware of the mid/late 1970s is beautifully elegant (as was much of the hifi hardware of the era) -- but think about what cars, clothes, furniture, etc. was like, ca. 1978!
$450 sounds pricey, though -- is it fully rehab'bed? If not, I'd look for a more cost-effective example of the breed. Just my thoughts on the matter.
