RE: These looked nice

I worked at Radio Shack for a few years; from about 1983-86, I think. We had the Mach One's and a variety of other speakers. I only came close to selling one pair, but that fell through when the buyer's card was declined.

I worked mostly in a downtown store, and it wasn't exactly where people came to buy things much larger than cassettes and batteries. We sold few components, very few speakers, but lots of more portable radios and the occasional boom box.

One notable exception was the Minimus 7. When they would go on the two-for-one sale, which seemed to occur about once a year, they'd fly out the door, even though many people were likely lugging them home on the bus.
