Anyone know how to interpret Yamaha Serial numbers.

Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

We've got a Yamaha C-80 preamp (a damn fine preamp, IMHO). The serial number is 10000. I'm wondering if this is C-80 number one. Does anyone know Yamaha serial numbering?
