Finger tip measurements

For quite a few years now, I've used a sub along with small SET 6BQ5 amps. The sub is an older (Nice!) M&K something or whatever if it makes any difference. When I want the correct (imo) balance of the speakers and the sub, I place my fingers at different pressures against the driver edge and feel for the right timing reaction to the music, and strength.

It works for me every time. Does anyone else do this, or am I nutz.

Edit: My ears need to agree...and they do.

Edit Two: Not only the edge, but the cone, while making crossover adjustments.
