RE: Best JBL Speakers That Don't Cost To Much.......

I remember that I liked that L26 Decade model two-ways back in the day. I think that was JBL's attempt to capture some Advent sales. (I remember a local dealer who sold both and many of their customers bought one or the other with many of the stereo systems they sold.) I think they sold for more than the Advents but the JBL name always could bring a higher price. I think those were pretty decent speakers for the day and would still be good today with quality electronics and a good sound source. I'm sure the foam on the woofers is long ago shot unless you find a pair that has been re-foamed. They had cloth grilles so unlike some of the studio monitor types with crumbling foam grilles, you could probably find a suitable replacement cloth from Parts Express if the old ones are dirty looking.
