I really like those Scott 299Bs

Just beautiful. Love those double-ganged brass knobs. But my first love is a Fisher X100B because that's what we had when I was a kid.
Plus a Weathers table with wood tonearm (simply beautiful, and great sound too.)

Sometimes I wonder how much progress has been made, because I remember how sweet that old system sounded. Modern stuff is all edges, the older stuff is mostly surfaces. Modern tubes like C-Js (I own an MV-50) sound tizzy compared to the sixties stuff.
