Home Radio Road

Which tuner to get and getting the most from it. Thank God, for the radio!

So, I have no experience with the Sangean you said you didn't like, but I have one of these and I think it works fine & sounds perfectly OK for what it is, a small, cheap AM/FM transistor portable radio. I mean, we're not talkin' REL Precedent or even MR-78, you know? :-)

This one I got for $3 at our church's semi-annual 'rummage sale' (more of a fleamarket than a pure-play rummage sale). The worst thing I'll say about it is that battery life (using alkaline cells) is kind of limited-- well worth investing in a phalanx of NiMH rechargeable cells... someday...

Otherwise, a perfectly decent and decent sounding radio.

Not sure I have much of an ear for vocal reproduction, though -- here're my preferred vocal reproducers (ahem).
