Believe it or not I still have to catch time between chores and the "honey dew" list to work on my hobby, but I will admit I manage to make more time for it than I was able to before I pulled the plug. I think next time around I will try the independently wealthy route, that seems to have promise. : )
I will probably be up and down the scale a bit trying to find a sweet spot for the operating points. So far it does seem to be lower rather than higher.
