Do It Yourself (DIY) paradise for tube and SET project builders.

Have you tried....

putting a sheet of metal or a cover from another piece of gear like a vintage integrated amp or receiver between the power supply unit and preamp just to check to see if that has any effect on this hum? I know it may sound ridiculous but just to check off the list.

It has to be something simple that you have over looked. It happens to like that sometimes.

maybe you need shielded cables for the inside connections to the all the inputs inside the preamp? If it's like the pic, that what I would try.very no but as the wire gets longer it will pick up junk that a shielded cable will not.
