vinnie2 - First you have to discern if it's 60Hz from the AC line or 120Hz from the power supply ripple. It's usually power supply noise. Measure the P-P ripple on the main filter cap. I shoot for no more then 5% but try to achieve 1% max. The calculation is Vp-p/Vdc on the cap. x100.
Can also try adding about 50% more capacitance temporarily to hear if that lowers the supply hum. - Pete
