RE: dropping resistor and decoupling cap.....




You don't have reference to where the B+ is and the decoupling cap is in the wrong place. As drawn, the two resistors effectively become the plate load.

The attached picture is how it needs to be wired. the decoupling cap provides a low impedance path to ground for the junction point of the two resistors. Any variation of the dropping resistor will only change the DC operation points of the circuit and adjustment to the load resistor will change both the DC and AC operation of the circuit.
