Here is the volume/balance circuit. It's fairly ordinary; set to give 3dB attenuation on both channels when balanced, so that you get roughly equal total sound level when panned.
The BeePre is a Bottlehead design, and I drew this circuit, but it's not anything new or different. Apologies for the large amount of white space; I'm on vacation in Europe and don't have my usual resources at hand. Incidentally, we do offer a proprietary switched attenuator upgrade kit [for this preamp] without balance function.
