there is a thread on another site that mentioned changing the chinese tubes took away the brittle treble and added bass to the sound.
there are sub $8 nos tubes on parts connexion et all, maybe I could try some tube rolling to start as you suggest.
are $4 nos tubes an improvement over chinese ones ? and if so do i need schematic to know what types to get ?
