WHICH "orange drops" are you referring to? There are a large number of varieties of "orange drops", "orange dips", etc. out there, some of which aren't so hot, one is very good. Some are polyester/mylar dielectrics, some use steel/copperweld leads, and there are a bunch of knockoffs no one really knows much about.
I'd also like to hear how you determined the cap was "ringing". Can you tell us how you were able to determine that was occurring? Thanks.
For those who do not know, the Vishay/Sprague 716P series "Orange Drops" (the name is trademarked BTW) are film/foil polypropylene with tinned copper leads. That's the ones I use - in the appropriate locations - with excellent results.
