Sure Tesla,
It's a very neat machine and perfect for stacked components. Although I have never bought components for convenience or looks. -810 is the three motot, three head dual cap version of the -610, and its successor the DRS-640. While these decks were sold, Denon continued to make the very fine DRM-740, a dual capstan machine which loaded normally and was based on the DRM-700. At this stage Denon also made the single capstan but very good sounding Dolby S deck, the DRM-650S and the two twins.
DRS-810 had a good reputation and reviewers were on the whole positive about it, slanting it towards classical music and politely suggesting it was a touch laid back (and had a taste for good tape). Don't they all!! Good luck with your new and elegant addition. Well built, those Denons, aren't they??
Marc
