Sorry super-tweeter, and I didn't realize you will use a ribbon tweeter. My bad. Ribbon tweeters are a different kettle of fish, and out of my experience. Hopefully someone who has experience with running ribbon tweeters on class A amps will chime in.
I've looked at them too as super-tweeters from 6000hz up. I know a horn loaded ribbon site you may be interested in. I have the link on my work computer. I think they came in 8 and 16 ohm, and went close to 2200hz. BTW, I have the Beyma CP385ND 1" compression driver, and the thing reeks quality. Superb driver.
How loud do you like to listen? My cheap class A recommendation would be the Decware SE84, or as I like to call it, The Little Wonder. Strap it into mono, and get three and a half watts of class A that will run a 2 ohm driver. Probably not enough juice, still fun and cheap. I'm going to breakdown and try a Firstwatt amp one day.
My simple advice is to start by using entry level amps until you figure out the watts and gain structure of the amps that work for you. Then you can buy the nice one, if you can replicate the gain and watts. Don't forget the gain knobs. You are going to need them. I'm guessing you got the calibrated mic to go with the crossover?
I think your project sounds interesting. I hope you pursue it till you got it up and running. It's not all that hard if you take it one step at a time.

Big speakers and little amps blew my mind!
