Well, can you plug INTO a CD player?

My Denon CD player died. The laser expired. So I got the cheap Onkyo 7030 but I don't like the sound as well as I liked the Denon's. The Onkyo has a "digital" RCA output. Is there some way I can hack that (or some other part) into the Denon so I have a D-A that I like and a player that works?
