Never was a problem

Fstein,

As I stated below the test's I did on iTunes proved that even with the Benchmark there was not all these issues they said there was. Only the simple one that in iTunes it does not resample the speed it will merly upsample or downsample to what the speed is.

I showed below somewhere with the Benchmark that there was no difference at all between iTunes and VLC which is what Benchmark said was correct.

The problem arrised because on a 24 bit dac the MAC will set the preferences to 96K. It will then envoke the upsampler if you played 44.1 songs and therefore would not show up as bit perfect.

The real problem arouse if you were in iTunes and had the unit set to 96k then went into Midi/Audio and reset the unit to 44.1 without leaving iTunes. Then what would happen is iTunes would upsample to 96K and CoreAudio would downsample to 44.1 and that's bad.

Thanks
Gordon
