RE: Dragonfly Red or Meridian Explorer 1or 2 headphone Dac?

If you can afford to spend a little more money, you might want to check out the iFi nano iDSD DAC. I bought one a couple of years ago and it's the perfect DAC for connecting to a computer or a smart phone. It can handle all digital formats from 16/44 Redbook up through 11.2-MHz DSD. It has a headphone output but it also has RCA analog outputs so you can connect your own headphone amplifier for better fidelity. However, it sounds very good to me on its own with my old Grado HP-1 headphones as well as my newer Grado RS-2 headphones.
