I'm using a desktop with an idsd usb dac direct to my amps - foobar for music, jriver for blu rays. Any opnions re the difference in sound quality between blu rays on a stand alone player such as an oppo vs through my computer's dac, or other dacs? A stand alone would be more convenient for me, as playing movies on a computer can be a pia at times, but from what I understand if one uses an external dac with a blu ray player other than an hdmi dac, you receive lossy audio. Any comments would be very welcome. thank you.
