There have been reports of macOS Sierra USB problems with some DACs, not just your make and model. Make sure you have the latest macOS update installed. You may need to wait a while for this to get worked out.

Unless someone owns the two generations old Ayre QB9 24/96 version, AND is running macOS Sierra, you are not likely to find the answer to your specific problem here.

Have you contacted Ayre? Perhaps they've tried it.
