if you are referring to the one in the link (that i also have) and you go to the end of the page, the reviewer mentions a usb input of questionable quality.
If you are using, as I guess, a pc as source, maybe an usb to spdif converter could be a positive addition.
My feeling is that the quality of these devices (usb to spdif converters) has increased a lot recently, with also cheap units giving a very good performance for the money.
You can buy one for 50-60 USD these days.
There is a thread here below discussing these devices.
I think that the dac you have is quite ok.
You can also try a better mains transformer than the stock one.
