Yes.

By the looks of the Pictures at www.diyaudio.de of the re-issues, no. The Old series has a VERY thin paper, impregnated with some kind of laquer, it is very fargile and litereally prone to breaking.
The new series whizzer is just unpimpregnated paper, aparently the smae as the cone.
BTW, the "$0.98 Lowther Tweak" works also great on the Axiom 80....
