I use REW, and I am trying hard to teach myself what I can get from it especially on trying different crossover combination. But I also use UMIK-1 and miniDSP, so you have to invest some dough. Yes, it will take a lot of time and a lot of staring at the graphs but once you grasp the basics of it, it is not that hard to interpret.Go to mini DSP tutorial website for some tips using REW in Acoustic Measurement, Loudspeaker Measurement, etc. examples. Also, look for topics like "2 way crossover design" etc. on the net.
