Attenuator Transformers - from Old Posting

I found this old post and wondered if it were possible to use a 'speaker volume wall control' type attenuator transformer as a midrange or tweeter output control.

You can also use the Ratshack transformer in-wall volume controls..."

Is this true?

Can this in wall type transformer be used as a mid or tweeter output control?

ATLAS AT10:http://www.atlassound.com/at10

Atlas wiring guide shows connection for AT10PA for use with 70 volt setup? For non PA type models there is just a pos and neg input, and output.

There is an AT10PA model too.
