Gang:I have really been wanting to get some petal horns made for my JBL 2441 drivers with original aluminum diaphragms.
But then after more surfing around I was asking myself: Tractrix? Or La Cleac'h?
Although the La Cleac'h have a wider radius for a given cutoff, they allegedly deal with mouth edge diffraction much better at the expense of larger center spacing between drivers. (Which is a bigger deal when using a supertweeter at 6k or 8k than the midbass crossover point of about 500Hz...)
So what do you guys think? (Below is a 3/4 scale cardboard mock up of a 250Hz 12-sided Tractrix petal horn. That was fun.)
Cheers,
Presto
