RE: measuring TSP - driver variation

I want a quasi point source with guts & good bass, so one small-but-robust driver covering ~300Hz and up, plus a pair of bigger drivers covering the low end. I may experiment with adding a tweeter later.
Imagine something vaguely like the BD-Design Swing M3, but I won't be claiming 115dB/watt... maybe 95dB.

one preamp --> 20W amp --> passive components --> one 4" in front horn.
same preamp --> mini DSP --> two 50W amps --> two 12".

- no whizzer
- sealed bass
- horn mouth on plane with bass baffle (since I can delay the bass with the mini DSP)
- possibly a monocoque (so the space behind the horn is not wasted)

I have all the gear for this, having just received the bass components: two DTA-120 T-amps and four SB34NRX75-6 wofers. These are like the driver Zaph uses / describes in the link. I say LIKE the driver Zaph describes, because, again, what I measure is off spec. It looks like they have changed the driver without updating the model number or spec sheets.

Loose drivers that I measure as matching spec:

3/4 of my P-Audio Sn4-60F
1 Fostex 105WK
2 Peerless HDS woofers

Drivers that measure weak (Qts over spec):

1/4 of my P-Audio Sn4-60F
2 "Vifa" P17WJ-00
4 SB Acoustics woofers

I put Vifa in quotations for two reasons,
1) "This classic 6.5" woofer is now being built by Scan-speak in Denmark."
2) Mine may actually be copies with the same model number, sold as Vifas. Is that a thing?
They are both off by a really stupid amount (spec Qts 0.35 & Fs 37Hz vs. measured Qts averaging 0.74 & Fs 51Hz).

The SB Acoustics woofers are listed as Qts 0.4 & Fs 19Hz on their website

The Qts I measure:
0.6015
0.5495
0.5729
0.5795

Fs consistently ~25Hz (although this may reduce with break in)

They look great, and could still suit the purpose ...but I will definitely end up with a final Q higher than I'd intended.

Interesting that Fostex got it "right" (manufacturing in China with OK quality control), when others have not.
