Unfortunately, I suspect that many today would not appreciate a home version of the Synergy designs, which would probably have to be more expensive due to low production volumes. There might be an opportunity for something like an upgraded crossover using premium film caps or something like that -- outboard if necessary.
I personally am intrigued by the idea of a low-power Synergy-type design using something like the DCX50 or BMS 4592 concentric compression drivers crossed at 500hz or below. I really like the sound of those large-format drivers on conical horns. The power handling would not be sufficient for pro use, perhaps around 20 watts max, giving perhaps 114 db or so peaks. This is what has been leading me to think more about the Synergy design (minus the tapped horn aspect) recently.
